EPIC Bars Reivew + Giveaway

These bars are EPIC! Okay, I had to say that but they truly are the best tasting, most nutrient dense pre-packaged snack I have been able to find. They are loaded with protein and have very little sugar (depending on the bar you choose). They are also kid-friendly, both of my boys eat them right up!

EPIC bars are like jerky but with a twist. They add a variety of nuts, fruit, herbs, and spices bypassing the taste of traditional, plain jerky. With 10-15 grams of protein in each bar, they will surely give you the boost of energy needed between meals.

We are partnering with EPIC for an awesome giveaway of 12 EPIC bars plus their reusable organic tote bag, perfect for farmer's markets and other shopping excursions. See below for the giveaway but if you want some bars now then you can order a sample pack on EPIC's website. You can also find them on Amazon.

EPIC bars are:
  • made with whole foods
  • 100% grass-fed and/or wild
  • low glycemic
  • soy-free
  • gluten-free
  • dairy-free
  • egg-free
  • grain-free
  • nut-free options

The bars come in new and improved vacuum sealed bag with 50% less packaging material (I hear the eco-friendly bells ringing). This new packaging has increased the shelf life to 12 months so these bars are good for those Domesday Preppers. My husband thinks we should prepare for a catastrophic event (maybe this is for another post) but we will definitely have EPIC bars on hand for this upcoming event.

Turkey

This one is by far my favorite but my husband's least favorite. There is a mild taste of turkey with a hint of sweetness mixed with spice. I could eat one of these bars every single day.

Ingredients: Turkey, Almonds, Dried Cranberries, Lactic Acid, Coriander, Cumin, Nutmeg, Red Pepper, Dehydrated Garlic, Paprika, Dehydrated Onion, Salt, Celery Powder, Sea Salt

Bison

Everyone in the family loves this bar, including the kids. It is my husband's favorite. You can taste the bison mixed with bacon then a slight taste of cranberries. It is a perfect mix your taste buds will love.

Ingredients: Bison, Uncured Bacon, Dried Cranberries, Lactic Acid, Celery Powder, Sea Salt

Lamb

I thought the lamb bar was interesting and unique. I never thought I would like it but it tasted really good. I could definitely taste the currants which brings out the flavor of the lamb. All of the ingredients are a nice combination of flavors - it reminds me of Fall.

Ingredients: Organic Lamb, Organic Currants, Sea Salt, Lactic Acid, Celery Powder, Basil, Marjoram, Oregano, Rosemary, Red Pepper, Black Pepper, Sesame Seeds, Dehydrated Spearmint Leaves, Dehydrated Lemon Peel

Beef

The beef bar is spicy... in a good way. There is a nice balance of flavors with a kick of habanero without being overwhelming. If you like hot snacks then this one is for you!

Ingredients: Organic Beef, Walnuts, Dried Cherries, Lactic Acid, Salt, Celery Powder, Black pepper, Crushed Habanero

NEW: Hunter & Gatherer Packs

EPIC just came out with a new line of superfoods called Hunter & Gatherer including jerky with mixtures of ancient berries and nuts. I can see our whole family snacking on these when we travel. They are the perfect whole food snack for an active lifestyle! Head on over to EPIC's website to order a sample pack.
